PDO Thread Lift in Agoura Hills
– What it is
What is a PDO thread lift?
A PDO thread lift uses ultra-fine sutures made from polydioxanone (PDO), a biocompatible, absorbable material used safely in the body for decades. Threads are placed just beneath the skin to provide two effects: immediate mechanical lift, as threads are positioned to gently lift sagging tissue around the cheeks, jawline, and jowls, and long-term collagen stimulation, as your body responds to the threads by producing new collagen around them (neocollagenesis).
Over about four to six months, the threads naturally break down and are absorbed. Their collagen-boosting effect can help maintain a lifted appearance for a year or more.
Many patients pair chin filler with jawline treatment for a more complete profile enhancement, though it also works well on its own.
- Mild to moderate skin sagging
- Jowls & loss of jawline definition

PDO thread lift vs. surgical facelift
A PDO thread lift is not a replacement for a surgical facelift. PDO threads can provide temporary repositioning and support for appropriately selected patients with mild to moderate tissue laxity, but they cannot remove excess skin or provide the degree of repositioning possible with surgery.
During your consultation, we’ll determine whether PDO threads or another non-surgical treatment is appropriate for your concerns.
– Two different tools
PDO thread lift vs. PDO smooth threads
PDO lifting threads
Designed to provide mechanical support and reposition selected facial tissue, an actual lifting effect.
PDO smooth threads
Do not provide the same lifting effect. Placed within the skin to support collagen stimulation and skin quality instead.
AIVI Aesthetics offers both options depending on your anatomy and treatment goals.

PDO thread lift FAQs
How does a PDO thread lift work?
Threads are inserted through small incisions, creating a support structure that lifts sagging skin. Over time, the threads stimulate collagen synthesis, enhancing firmness and reducing wrinkles.
What areas can be treated?
The cheeks, jawline, neck, and brow area are the most common areas, effectively addressing sagging skin, jowls, and other signs of aging.
How long do results last?
Typically several months to a year. The threads gradually dissolve while the collagen-stimulating effects persist, allowing for prolonged rejuvenation.
Is the procedure painful?
Local anesthesia numbs the treatment area, minimizing discomfort. Mild tightness after the procedure is common and subsides within a few days.
Who is a good candidate?
Ideal candidates have mild to moderate skin sagging and want a non-surgical solution. A consultation will determine your candidacy.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes, PDO thread lifts are often combined with dermal fillers or neurotoxin as part of a broader rejuvenation plan.
