Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Fine Lines & Wrinkles Treatment in Agoura Hills
Fine lines and wrinkles are a normal part of aging, but they do not all develop for the same reason.
Some lines come from repeated facial movement. Others are related to collagen loss, sun damage, skin thinning, volume changes or a combination of factors.
That is why treating wrinkles effectively is not always about adding more filler or freezing every expression.
At AIVI Aesthetics in Agoura Hills, we take a skin-first, natural-looking approach to facial rejuvenation.
We look at what type of lines you have, where they are located, how your face moves, your skin quality, facial structure and overall goals before recommending treatment.
Depending on your concerns, options may include Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, Daxxify, CO2 laser resurfacing and CoolPeel®, Vivace RF microneedling, traditional microneedling, Rejuran, Sculptra, Radiesse, dermal filler or a combination approach.
The goal is not to erase every line.
It is to help you look refreshed, rested and like yourself.
What Causes Fine Lines and Wrinkles?
Wrinkles develop for several reasons.
Common contributing factors include:
- Repeated facial expressions
- Collagen and elastin loss
- Sun exposure
- Skin thinning
- Dehydration
- Loss of facial volume
- Changes in bone and fat support
- Genetics
- Smoking
- Lifestyle factors
- Natural aging
For many patients, more than one process is happening at the same time.
For example, forehead lines may primarily be related to muscle movement, while fine lines around the cheeks may be more related to sun damage and collagen loss.
This is why one treatment does not necessarily address every wrinkle.
Dynamic Wrinkles vs. Static Wrinkles
One of the first things we look at is whether your lines are dynamic or static.
Dynamic Wrinkles
Dynamic wrinkles appear or become more noticeable when facial muscles move.
Common examples include:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines between the brows
- Crow’s feet
- Bunny lines around the nose
These lines are often treated with a neuromodulator such as Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau or Daxxify.
The goal is to soften excessive muscle movement while preserving natural expression.
Static Wrinkles
Static wrinkles remain visible even when your face is at rest.
They may develop because of:
- Long-term repeated movement
- Collagen loss
- Sun damage
- Skin thinning
- Volume loss
- Changes in facial support
Static wrinkles may require a different approach.
Treatment may include skin resurfacing, microneedling, RF microneedling, regenerative skin treatments, collagen stimulators or carefully selected filler, depending on the cause.
What Is the Best Treatment for Fine Lines and Wrinkles?
There is no single best wrinkle treatment.
The best option depends on why the line is there.
At AIVI Aesthetics, we may recommend:
- Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau or Daxxify for movement-related wrinkles
- CoolPeel® or CO2 laser resurfacing for fine lines and photoaging
- RF microneedling for collagen remodeling and skin texture
- Traditional microneedling for gradual collagen support
- Rejuran for fine lines and skin quality
- Sculptra or Radiesse for collagen stimulation
- Dermal filler for selected structural or volume-related concerns
- Professional skincare and sun protection for long-term maintenance
For many patients, the most natural-looking result comes from combining small amounts of the right treatments rather than relying heavily on one procedure.
Treatment for Fine Lines and Wrinkles
-
Botox for Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Botox is commonly used to soften wrinkles caused by repeated facial movement. It may be used in areas such as: Forehead lines Frown lines Crow's feet Bunny lines Selected lower-face areas Botox works by temporarily reducing targeted muscle activity. At AIVI Aesthetics, the goal is not necessarily to make the forehead completely motionless. We focus on softening lines while preserving natural movement whenever appropriate. A patient who looks relaxed and refreshed usually looks more natural than someone whose face appears overly treated. [Learn More About Botox →]
-
Dysport for Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Dysport is another neuromodulator used to soften expression lines. Like Botox, it works by temporarily reducing targeted muscle activity. Some patients prefer the way Dysport feels or spreads in certain areas, while others may respond better to a different neuromodulator. The choice between Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau and Daxxify is individualized based on your treatment history, anatomy and goals. [Learn More About Dysport →]
-
Daxxify, Xeomin or Jeuveaufor Wrinkle Treatment
AIVI Aesthetics also offers additional neuromodulator options including Xeomin, Jeuveau and Daxxify. These treatments work through the same general mechanism of reducing targeted muscle activity, but individual products differ in formulation and may vary in onset, duration and patient preference. There is no universally “best” toxin. The right choice is the one that fits your anatomy, previous response and desired treatment plan.
-
CO2 Laser Resurfacing for Fine Lines
When wrinkles are related to skin texture, sun damage and collagen loss, resurfacing may be more appropriate than simply adding injectables. CO2 laser resurfacing works by creating controlled thermal injury in the skin, stimulating a healing and remodeling response. At AIVI Aesthetics, we use Tetra Pro CO2 technology. Depending on treatment intensity, CO2 resurfacing may help improve: Fine lines Rough texture Enlarged-looking pores Sun damage Acne scars Overall photoaging This can be particularly useful for fine lines that remain visible even when the face is at rest. -
CoolPeel® for Fine Lines and Skin Texture
CoolPeel® uses CO2 laser technology with a more superficial resurfacing approach. It may be considered for patients concerned about: Early fine lines Uneven texture Enlarged-looking pores Sun damage Dullness Early photoaging CoolPeel® may be a good option for patients who want skin resurfacing with less downtime than more aggressive CO2 treatment. -
RF Microneedling for Fine Lines
RF microneedling may be appropriate when fine lines occur alongside skin laxity, enlarged pores, texture changes or collagen loss. At AIVI Aesthetics, we use Vivace RF Microneedling. The treatment combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy delivered into the skin. This controlled stimulation encourages collagen remodeling. RF microneedling may help improve the appearance of: Fine lines Crepey texture Enlarged-looking pores Uneven skin texture Early laxity Acne scars [Learn More About Vivace RF Microneedling →]
-
Traditional Microneedling for Early Fine Lines
Traditional microneedling may be useful for patients looking for a gradual approach to improving: Fine lines Uneven texture Mild acne scarring Enlarged-looking pores Dullness Early collagen loss It is commonly performed as a series and may be incorporated into a long-term skin-maintenance plan. [Learn More About Microneedling →]
-
Rejuran for Fine Lines and Skin Quality
Fine lines are not always caused by a lack of facial volume. Sometimes the issue is skin quality. Rejuran is a polynucleotide-based injectable treatment used to support skin rejuvenation rather than create volume like a traditional filler. It may be considered for: Fine lines Crepey skin Thin-looking skin Overall skin quality Early signs of aging Under-eye skin concerns Rejuran may be especially appealing for patients who want to focus on the skin itself rather than adding facial volume. [Learn More About Rejuran →]
-
Sculptra for Collagen Loss and Aging Skin
As facial collagen decreases with age, the skin may appear thinner, less supported and more lax. Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating injectable used to encourage gradual collagen production. Unlike traditional filler, Sculptra is not primarily designed to create immediate localized volume. It may be considered when facial aging includes: Generalized collagen loss Early facial laxity Loss of support Skin-quality changes Gradual volume changes Sculptra is often used as part of a long-term aging strategy rather than a quick correction for one line. [Learn More About Sculptra →]
-
Radiesse for Collagen Stimulation and Facial Support
Radiesse may also be used in selected patients when aging includes loss of support, contour or collagen. Depending on how it is used, Radiesse can provide structural support and may also be incorporated into collagen-focused treatment planning. It is not appropriate for every line or every facial area. Treatment should be based on anatomy rather than using filler simply because a wrinkle is visible.
Do Fine Lines Always Need Filler?
No.
This is one of the most important things we tell patients.
If the problem is:
Movement → neuromodulator may make more sense.
If the problem is:
Skin texture → resurfacing or microneedling may make more sense.
If the problem is:
Collagen loss → biostimulation may make more sense.
If the problem is:
Structural volume loss → filler may be appropriate.
Putting filler directly into every line can create heaviness and an unnatural appearance.
We treat the cause of the line, not simply the line itself.
Botox vs. Filler for Wrinkles
Botox and filler do very different things.
| Treatment | Primary Purpose | Often Used For |
|---|---|---|
| Botox / Dysport / Jeuveau / Daxxify | Reduce targeted muscle movement | Forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet |
| Dermal Filler | Restore selected volume or structural support | Volume loss, contour, selected folds |
| CO2 / CoolPeel® | Resurface and stimulate skin remodeling | Fine lines, texture, photoaging |
| RF Microneedling | Stimulate collagen remodeling | Fine lines, pores, laxity, texture |
| Rejuran | Support skin quality | Fine lines, crepey skin, regenerative rejuvenation |
| Sculptra / Radiesse | Support collagen and facial structure | Generalized aging and collagen loss |
Many patients benefit from more than one category of treatment because facial aging is multidimensional.
Our Skin-First Approach to Fine Lines and Wrinkles
You may come into AIVI saying:
“I need Botox.”
Maybe you do.
But if the line is present at rest because of sun damage and collagen loss, Botox alone may not address everything you are seeing.
Or you may think you need filler when what would make a bigger difference is improving skin quality.
That is why we evaluate the whole picture.
At AIVI Aesthetics, our approach prioritizes:
- Natural-looking results
- Facial movement
- Skin health
- Collagen preservation
- Appropriate treatment selection
- Conservative injectables
- Patient education
- Safety
- Long-term maintenance
- Honest recommendations
The goal is not to make you look like a different person.
It is to help you look refreshed without looking overdone.
How Long Do Wrinkle Treatments Last?
Duration depends on the treatment.
Neuromodulators are temporary and typically require maintenance.
Microneedling and RF microneedling stimulate gradual collagen remodeling, so results develop over time.
CO2 resurfacing can create longer-lasting improvement in existing skin damage, but the skin continues to age.
Rejuran and collagen-stimulating treatments may also require a series and periodic maintenance.
No treatment permanently stops aging.
Long-term results depend on consistent maintenance, skincare and sun protection.
Can Wrinkles Be Completely Removed?
We do not promise completely wrinkle-free skin.
Nor do we believe that should necessarily be the goal.
Natural faces move.
Healthy skin still has texture.
Our goal is to soften lines, improve skin quality and help your face look rested and balanced without creating an artificial appearance.
What If I Don’t Want to Look Frozen?
This is one of the most common concerns patients share with us.
You do not have to look frozen to benefit from neuromodulator treatment.
Natural treatment requires understanding:
- Facial anatomy
- Muscle movement
- Product placement
- Appropriate dosing
- Your personal goals
Some patients prefer more movement.
Others prefer a smoother result.
We discuss that before treatment.
At AIVI Aesthetics, we would rather gradually adjust treatment than automatically use more product.
What If I Don't Want to Look Overfilled?
You do not need more filler simply because you are aging.
Sometimes the most natural-looking improvement comes from improving skin texture and collagen quality first.
If volume loss is contributing to your concern, filler or a biostimulator may be recommended selectively.
But our goal is never to chase every line with volume.
A good aesthetic result should still look like your face.
Frequently Asked Questions About Fine Lines & Wrinkles
The best treatment depends on what is causing the wrinkle. Neuromodulators may be appropriate for movement-related lines, while resurfacing, microneedling, collagen stimulators or selected filler may be more appropriate for static wrinkles and skin-quality changes.
Neither is universally better. Botox treats targeted muscle movement, while filler restores selected volume and structural support. Using filler for a movement-related wrinkle or Botox for volume loss will not address the actual cause.
It does not have to. Treatment can be customized to soften excessive movement while preserving expression. The degree of movement you prefer should be discussed before treatment.
Reducing repeated muscle contraction may help slow the deepening of certain expression lines. Preventative treatment should still be individualized rather than based on age alone.
CO2 resurfacing may improve fine lines related to photoaging and skin texture by stimulating skin remodeling. Results vary according to treatment intensity and the patient’s skin.
RF microneedling may improve fine lines by stimulating collagen remodeling, particularly when wrinkles occur with texture changes, enlarged-looking pores or early laxity.
Microneedling may help soften early fine lines and improve skin texture through gradual collagen stimulation. A series is often recommended.
Rejuran may be considered when fine lines are associated with skin-quality changes, thin or crepey skin, rather than significant structural volume loss.
Maintenance depends on the treatment, your goals and how your skin ages. A long-term plan may include periodic neuromodulators, collagen-stimulating treatments, resurfacing and daily skincare rather than treating every concern at once.
