It’s generally advise to temporarily discontinue certain skincare products before your HydraFacial MD to minimize potential irritation and maximize treatment benefits.
- Retinoids & Retinol: Stop using retinoids (including prescription-strength tretinoin) and over-the-counter retinol products at least 3-5 days before your HydraFacial MD. These can make skin more sensitive.
- Vitamin C: While vitamin C is excellent for your skin, some potent serums (especially those with L-ascorbic acid) might be slightly irritating when combined with HydraFacial MD. Consult your AIVI Aesthetics specialist for advice.
- Harsh Exfoliants: Avoid strong chemical peels, AHAs/BHAs, and physical scrubs in the days leading up to your appointment.
What to focus on:
- Hydration: In the days before your treatment, focus on gentle cleansers and hydrating products to ensure your skin is well-prepped for maximum absorption.
- Sunscreen: Always diligently apply sunscreen, especially when your skin might be slightly more sensitive.
