What Is the Recovery Time After Rejuran Healer Injections?

What Is the Recovery Time After Rejuran Healer Injections? #

If you’re considering Rejuran Healer injections, one of the biggest questions you may have is:

How much downtime will I need?

Rejuran Healer is known for relatively limited downtime compared with more intensive skin-resurfacing procedures. However, because the treatment involves multiple injections into the skin, you should expect some temporary visible changes afterward.

The most common are small injection-site bumps, redness, mild swelling, tenderness, and occasional bruising. For many patients, the most noticeable redness and swelling settle within the first few days. Small injection-site bumps often improve within about 24–48 hours, although individual recovery varies.

Here’s what you should know before scheduling your treatment.

What Does Your Skin Look Like Immediately After Rejuran? #

Don’t schedule Rejuran expecting your skin to look completely normal immediately afterward.

Rejuran is typically administered through multiple small injections across the treatment area. Because of this, you may initially see:

  • Small raised bumps or papules
  • Redness
  • Mild swelling
  • Pinpoint injection marks
  • Tenderness
  • Minor bruising

The little bumps are often what surprise first-time patients the most.

They can resemble tiny mosquito bites across the treatment area. They are generally related to where the product has been placed and typically flatten as the area settles.

How Long Do the Rejuran Bumps Last? #

For many patients, the small injection-site bumps are most noticeable during the first 24–48 hours.

Clinical and professional guidance on polynucleotide injections generally describes these localized reactions as short-lived. However, the exact duration depends on factors such as injection technique, treatment area, amount of product, and your individual response.

Some patients may notice that the bumps disappear relatively quickly, while others may have visible injection marks or mild swelling for several days.

This is why we recommend giving yourself some flexibility if you have an important event coming up.

Rejuran Recovery: Day by Day #

Day 1: Immediately After Treatment #

This is usually when the treatment is most noticeable.

You may have:

  • Small raised injection bumps
  • Redness
  • Mild swelling
  • Tenderness
  • Pinpoint marks

The treated area may look temporarily uneven.

This isn’t your final result.

It’s simply the immediate response to having multiple injections performed.

Days 2–3: Bumps and Redness Begin to Settle #

During the next couple of days, the injection-site bumps and redness generally begin to improve.

A review from the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s EyeWiki notes that redness and swelling associated with periorbital polynucleotide injections generally decrease within 24–48 hours, allowing patients to resume normal daily activities relatively quickly.

If you bruise easily, however, bruising may still be visible.

Days 3–7: Most Visible Recovery Continues #

By this point, most of the initial swelling and bumps should be significantly improved for many patients.

Bruising can take longer.

The official Rejuran instructions note that injection-related inflammation such as redness, swelling, itching, or discomfort can sometimes persist for approximately a week. They recommend medical evaluation if inflammation continues beyond that period.

So while Rejuran is often described as having “minimal downtime,” that doesn’t mean every patient’s skin will look completely normal the next morning.

Weeks 1–4: Skin Improvements Begin Developing #

Recovery and results are two different timelines.

Your injection bumps may disappear quickly, but the skin-rejuvenation benefits aren’t immediate.

Improvements in hydration, smoothness, texture, elasticity, and overall skin quality may become more noticeable gradually over the following weeks.

Polynucleotide treatments are designed around gradual skin-quality improvement rather than an overnight transformation.

Can You Go Back to Work After Rejuran? #

Many patients can return to their usual activities fairly quickly.

However, whether you feel comfortable going directly back to work depends on how much redness, swelling, bruising, or injection-site bumps you develop—and how comfortable you are with them being visible.

If you work remotely, you may not care.

If you’re attending meetings, being photographed, or have an important social event, you may want additional recovery time.

I generally wouldn’t schedule an injectable treatment immediately before something important when you don’t yet know how your skin responds.

How Long Does Rejuran Swelling Last? #

Mild swelling is common following injectable polynucleotide treatments.

In a recent prospective observational study involving 42 patients receiving periorbital polynucleotide injections, mild swelling and discomfort were the most commonly reported early symptoms two days after treatment, with a smaller number experiencing minor bruising. No persistent or delayed treatment-related complications were reported during later follow-up in that study.

Under-eye swelling may be particularly noticeable because the tissue around the eyes is delicate.

Your individual recovery may differ.

How Long Does Bruising Last After Rejuran? #

Bruising is unpredictable.

Some patients barely bruise.

Others may develop small bruises at several injection sites.

A large prospective study of Rejuran involving 218 participants reported injection-site edema, pain, bruising, itching, and redness among the treatment-related adverse events. Most reported events were mild and tolerable, and the study reported no serious adverse events.

Bruising may remain visible after the bumps and swelling have already resolved.

If you know that you bruise easily, plan accordingly.

Is Rejuran Recovery Painful? #

You may experience temporary tenderness or sensitivity after treatment.

Injection-site pain has been reported in clinical studies, but most treatment-related reactions have been described as mild and tolerable.

The treated area may simply feel sensitive for a short period.

Increasing or severe pain, however, shouldn’t automatically be considered normal.

What Should You Avoid After Rejuran? #

Your provider should give you specific aftercare instructions based on the product and technique used.

General recommendations following polynucleotide injections may include temporarily avoiding activities that increase heat, irritation, or inflammation.

Professional guidance commonly advises avoiding or limiting things such as:

  • Strenuous exercise immediately after treatment
  • Saunas and excessive heat
  • Excessive sun exposure
  • Rubbing or aggressively massaging the treated area
  • Irritating skincare products while the skin is recovering

In one clinical study using Rejuran, patients were advised to avoid hot beverages, saunas, and baths on the day of treatment, and cooling was used after treatment to help reduce transient swelling and bruising.

Always follow the aftercare instructions given for your specific treatment.

When Can You Restart Your Normal Skincare? #

Your skin may be more sensitive immediately after injections.

This usually isn’t the time to aggressively exfoliate.

Depending on your provider’s instructions, you may temporarily need to avoid stronger active ingredients such as:

  • Retinoids
  • AHAs
  • BHAs
  • Strong exfoliating products
  • Scrubs

Focus on gentle skincare and sun protection while the skin settles.

Your provider should tell you when you can restart your regular active products.

When Can You Wear Makeup After Rejuran? #

Because Rejuran involves multiple injection sites, it is important to avoid unnecessarily irritating or contaminating freshly treated skin.

When you can safely resume makeup depends on your provider’s aftercare protocol and how your skin looks after treatment.

Don’t immediately cover fresh injection sites with heavy makeup simply because you’re worried about the bumps.

Follow your provider’s instructions and make sure anything applied to your face is clean.

Is Rejuran Recovery Longer Under the Eyes? #

It can be more noticeable.

The under-eye area has thin, delicate tissue and may swell more visibly than other areas of the face.

This doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong.

But if you’re having Rejuran around the eyes for the first time, I would avoid scheduling it immediately before:

  • A wedding
  • Professional photographs
  • An important meeting
  • Vacation photos
  • A major social event

Give your skin time to settle.

What Is Normal After Rejuran? #

Temporary reactions can include:

Small bumps ? expected with certain injection techniques

Mild swelling ? common

Redness ? common

Tenderness ? possible

Bruising ? possible

Temporary itching ? possible

These should generally improve rather than progressively worsen.

When Should You Contact Your Provider? #

Not every reaction after an injectable treatment should be dismissed as “normal downtime.”

Contact your healthcare provider if you develop symptoms that are severe, persistent, unusual, or worsening, particularly:

  • Increasing pain
  • Increasing warmth
  • Rapidly worsening redness
  • Significant or worsening swelling
  • Pus or unusual drainage
  • Fever
  • Significant skin discoloration
  • Persistent hard nodules
  • Hives or signs of an allergic reaction
  • Any symptom that concerns you

The Rejuran manufacturer’s instructions specifically advise prompt medical consultation when inflammation persists for more than approximately one week or when unexpected adverse effects occur.

How Does Rejuran Downtime Compare With Microneedling? #

Both treatments can temporarily leave the skin red and sensitive, but the recovery looks different.

After Rejuran, the most noticeable feature may be the small injection-site bumps.

After microneedling, patients may experience more generalized redness, sensitivity, dryness, and temporary roughness.

Which treatment makes more sense shouldn’t be determined by downtime alone.

If your concern is primarily thin, crepey, dehydrated-looking skin, a polynucleotide treatment may be considered.

If you’re primarily concerned about acne scars, enlarged pores, or uneven texture, microneedling may have a stronger role.

Rejuran Recovery vs CO2 Laser Recovery #

These treatments are very different.

CO2 laser resurfacing intentionally creates controlled thermal injury to produce more significant skin resurfacing and collagen remodeling.

Because of this, recovery can be substantially more involved than with Rejuran injections.

Rejuran is generally a lower-downtime skin-quality treatment.

But lower downtime also doesn’t mean it produces the same degree of correction as a resurfacing laser.

The treatment should match the concern.

When Will You See the Actual Rejuran Results? #

The moment the bumps disappear isn’t necessarily when the treatment has finished working.

Polynucleotide treatments are intended to produce gradual skin-quality improvements.

Early changes may include skin that appears:

  • More hydrated
  • Smoother
  • More radiant
  • Less crepey

Changes involving texture and elasticity may take longer.

Think of Rejuran as a gradual skin-rejuvenation treatment rather than an instant-result injectable.

What U.S. Patients Should Know About Rejuran #

Patients researching Rejuran should also understand that injectable Rejuran products are used internationally, particularly in South Korea.

International availability shouldn’t automatically be interpreted as FDA approval for cosmetic injection in the United States.

If you’re considering an injectable treatment marketed as Rejuran, PDRN, polynucleotides, or “salmon DNA,” ask your provider about the exact product, manufacturer, source, intended route of administration, and current U.S. regulatory status.

So, What Is the Recovery Time After Rejuran Healer Injections? #

For many patients, the most noticeable Rejuran recovery occurs during the first 24–48 hours, when small injection-site bumps, redness, and mild swelling may be visible. Bruising or residual irritation can take several additional days to resolve.

Some injection-related inflammation can persist for approximately a week according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

So while Rejuran is generally considered a relatively low-downtime treatment, don’t assume “no downtime” means “no visible signs of treatment.”

If you have an important event, give yourself a little extra time.
