Healthy skin has an incredible ability to repair itself after an injury. But wound healing is a complex biological process involving inflammation, new blood vessel formation, cellular repair, and tissue remodeling.

PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) has been studied in regenerative medicine for its potential role in supporting several of these processes.

Although PDRN has recently gained popularity in aesthetic skincare, its regenerative properties have also been investigated for wound healing and tissue repair. Understanding this research can help explain why PDRN has become such an interesting ingredient in regenerative aesthetics.

A wound that is deep, infected, worsening, not healing normally, or associated with conditions such as diabetes or poor circulation should be evaluated by an appropriate healthcare professional.

Signs that require medical attention can include increasing redness, warmth, swelling, drainage, fever, worsening pain, tissue discoloration, or delayed healing.

Proper wound management may require cleaning, dressings, infection management, pressure reduction, vascular evaluation, glucose management, or other medical interventions.

PDRN, when appropriate, should be considered within a comprehensive wound-care strategy—not as a replacement for it.
