The short answer is: yes, certain purified polynucleotide (PN) and PDRN products are used internationally as injectable treatments around and beneath the eyes. The goal is generally to improve the quality of the skin, rather than to create the volume associated with traditional under-eye filler.
Recent clinical research on periorbital polynucleotide injections has reported improvements in under-eye appearance, fine lines, hydration, elasticity, and overall skin quality. Can Salmon DNA Improve Under-Eye Fine Lines? #
Potentially, yes.
Fine lines around the eyes can develop because of several factors.
There may be:
Muscle movement + collagen loss + thinning skin + dehydration + sun damage.
Polynucleotides address the skin-quality component rather than stopping facial movement.
A prospective study of 42 patients receiving intradermal polynucleotide injections for under-eye rejuvenation found significant improvements in patient-reported lower-eyelid and crow’s-feet appearance. The greatest improvements and satisfaction were observed around three months after two treatment sessions. Can Salmon DNA Help Crepey Under-Eye Skin? #
This is one of the reasons polynucleotide treatments have become popular.
Crepey under-eye skin can be associated with:
- Reduced collagen
- Loss of elasticity
- Dehydration

Because PN treatments focus on improving skin quality rather than simply adding volume underneath it, they may be appealing when crepiness is the main concern.
