Does Rejuran Healer Work? #
If you’ve been seeing Rejuran all over social media, you may be wondering whether the treatment actually works—or whether it’s simply another Korean skincare trend.
So, does Rejuran Healer work?
Research on injectable polynucleotides suggests they may improve several aspects of skin quality, including fine lines, hydration, elasticity, texture, and overall skin appearance. However, results are generally subtle and gradual, and the available research is still developing.
Rejuran also isn’t designed to fix every sign of facial aging.
The key is understanding what Rejuran Healer is supposed to improve—and what it isn’t.
What Is Rejuran Healer? #
Rejuran Healer is an injectable skin treatment containing polynucleotides (PN), which are purified DNA-derived molecules commonly sourced from salmonids.
Polynucleotides have been investigated for their potential role in tissue repair and skin regeneration.
Unlike traditional dermal filler, Rejuran isn’t primarily intended to add significant facial volume.
Unlike Botox, it doesn’t relax the muscles responsible for expression lines.
Instead, Rejuran focuses primarily on improving skin quality.
It is commonly associated with concerns such as:
- Fine lines
- Crepey-looking skin
- Dehydration
- Reduced elasticity
- Uneven texture
- Thin-looking skin
- Dullness
- Overall skin rejuvenation
How Does Rejuran Healer Work? #
Rejuran takes a regenerative approach to skin rejuvenation.
Polynucleotides have been studied for their potential effects on processes involved in fibroblast activity, tissue repair, extracellular-matrix remodeling, hydration, and collagen-related skin changes.
This means the goal isn’t simply to fill a line.
Instead, the treatment is intended to create gradual improvements in the condition of the skin.
Think of it as:
Rejuran ? improving the skin
rather than:
Filler ? replacing volume
or:
Botox ? reducing muscle movement
This distinction is important when deciding whether Rejuran is likely to work for your particular concern.
What Does the Research Say About Rejuran? #
Research into aesthetic polynucleotide treatments is promising, but we should be careful not to overstate it.
A systematic review evaluating polynucleotides in aesthetic medicine identified nine studies involving 219 patients. The studies reported promising improvements in areas such as wrinkles, skin texture, and elasticity.
However, researchers also noted that the overall quality of the evidence ranged from low to moderate and that larger, better-designed clinical trials are needed.
So Rejuran isn’t simply hype.
But the scientific evidence isn’t yet as extensive as it is for some longer-established aesthetic treatments.
Does Rejuran Healer Work for Fine Lines? #
It may.
Fine lines can become more noticeable as the skin becomes thinner, less hydrated, and less elastic.
Because Rejuran focuses on skin quality, it may be useful when these changes are contributing to superficial fine lines.
However, the cause of the wrinkle matters.
If your forehead lines or crow’s feet are primarily caused by repetitive muscle movement, Rejuran doesn’t stop that movement.
In that situation, Botox or another neuromodulator may provide a more direct treatment.
If the skin itself is also thin and crepey, a skin-quality treatment may address another part of the problem.
Does Rejuran Healer Improve Crepey Skin? #
This is one of the areas where Rejuran may be particularly appealing.
Crepey skin can develop as the skin loses:
- Collagen
- Elasticity
- Hydration
- Thickness
- Resilience
Rejuran is used with the goal of improving these skin-quality characteristics rather than simply creating volume underneath the skin.
For someone who likes their facial shape but feels their skin looks thin, dry, or less resilient, this type of treatment may make more sense than automatically adding filler.
Does Rejuran Improve Hydration? #
Hydration is another potential benefit associated with injectable polynucleotide treatments.
Studies evaluating PN treatments have reported improvements in skin hydration measurements in some patients.
Better hydration can make the skin appear:
Smoother, plumper, more radiant, and less crepey.
However, this doesn’t mean Rejuran replaces a good skincare routine.
Daily sunscreen, appropriate moisturization, and evidence-based skincare remain important for maintaining skin health.
Does Rejuran Help Skin Texture? #
Rejuran may help improve mild textural changes and overall skin smoothness.
But the severity of the texture matters.
If you’re dealing with mild roughness or early age-related textural changes, improving overall skin quality may provide noticeable benefits.
If you have deep acne scars, substantial sun damage, or significant textural irregularities, Rejuran alone may not provide enough remodeling.
Treatments such as microneedling, RF microneedling, or CO2 laser resurfacing may have a stronger role depending on your skin.
Does Rejuran Tighten the Skin? #
Rejuran may improve skin elasticity and firmness, but it shouldn’t be marketed as a substitute for a facelift or a treatment for significant skin laxity.
This distinction matters.
Skin that looks slightly crepey or less resilient is different from tissue that has developed substantial laxity.
If significant tightening is your main goal, another treatment may be more appropriate.
Does Rejuran Work Under the Eyes? #
The under-eye area is one of the most popular areas for polynucleotide treatments.
Rejuran may be considered when the primary concerns include:
- Fine lines
- Crepey texture
- Thin-looking skin
- Dehydration
- Reduced elasticity
But “tired-looking eyes” can have many different causes.
Dark circles may come from pigmentation or visible blood vessels.
Hollowness may be caused by structural volume changes.
Under-eye bags may involve changes in the fat compartments.
Rejuran won’t necessarily correct those problems simply because they’re located under the eyes.
Again, the treatment has to match the concern.
Does Rejuran Work After One Session? #
You may notice subtle changes after one treatment, but Rejuran is generally discussed as a series rather than a one-time procedure.
Published polynucleotide studies have often evaluated results following multiple sessions.
Patients may first notice changes such as:
- Improved hydration
- Smoother-feeling skin
- Increased radiance
- Softer-looking fine lines
Other improvements may develop more gradually.
If you’re expecting dramatic results immediately after one appointment, Rejuran may not match those expectations.
How Many Rejuran Sessions Does It Take to Work? #
There isn’t one universal number for everyone.
Treatment plans commonly involve multiple sessions, but the appropriate number depends on:
- Your age
- Starting skin quality
- Treatment area
- Degree of photoaging
- Specific concern
- Product used
- Individual response
- Desired result
Some patients may be satisfied after fewer treatments.
Others may benefit from additional sessions.
The goal shouldn’t be to complete a predetermined package.
The goal should be to reassess your skin and determine whether additional treatment is actually necessary.
When Will You See Rejuran Results? #
Rejuran results are generally gradual.
Immediately after treatment, you may notice temporary injection-related effects such as:
- Small raised bumps
- Redness
- Swelling
- Tenderness
- Bruising
These aren’t your final results.
Once the initial reaction resolves, improvements in hydration and skin appearance may become more noticeable over the following weeks.
Skin remodeling takes time, which is why before-and-after photographs can be useful when evaluating subtle changes.
Why Doesn’t Rejuran Work for Everyone? #
No aesthetic treatment works equally well for every person.
Results may vary because of differences in:
- Age
- Genetics
- Skin condition
- Degree of collagen loss
- Sun damage
- Smoking
- Treatment technique
- Product used
- Number of treatments
- Skincare habits
- Individual biological response
But another major reason for disappointment is using Rejuran for the wrong problem.
If you have significant volume loss, Rejuran isn’t filler.
If you have strong dynamic wrinkles, Rejuran isn’t Botox.
If you have deep acne scars, Rejuran may not provide the same remodeling as a more intensive scar treatment.
If you have advanced skin laxity, it isn’t a facelift.
A treatment can be effective and still be the wrong treatment for you.
Rejuran vs Microneedling: Which Works Better? #
It depends on your concern.
If you’re primarily concerned about:
Hydration + crepey skin + fine lines + overall skin quality ? Rejuran may be worth considering.
If you’re primarily concerned about:
Acne scars + enlarged pores + uneven texture + collagen remodeling ? Microneedling may have a stronger role.
Some patients may benefit from incorporating different treatments into a long-term skin plan rather than trying to choose one treatment for everything.
Rejuran vs Sculptra: Which Works Better? #
Again, they aren’t direct competitors.
Rejuran is more focused on skin quality.
Sculptra is a PLLA biostimulator used for deeper collagen stimulation and age-related structural changes.
If your facial structure is good but your skin has become thin and crepey, improving skin quality may be the priority.
If you’re experiencing more significant collagen and structural changes, another approach may be necessary.
Is Rejuran Worth It? #
Rejuran may be worth considering if your expectations match what the treatment is designed to accomplish.
It may make sense if you want:
- Subtle skin rejuvenation
- Better hydration
- Improved elasticity
- Smoother texture
- Softer fine lines
- Healthier-looking skin
It may be less satisfying if you’re expecting dramatic lifting, significant volume restoration, complete acne-scar correction, or wrinkle elimination.
The goal is skin improvement—not facial transformation.
What U.S. Patients Should Know About Rejuran #
There is also an important regulatory distinction.
Rejuran injectable products are widely associated with aesthetic treatments in South Korea and other international markets. International availability, however, shouldn’t automatically be interpreted as FDA approval for cosmetic injection in the United States.
If you’re considering an injectable treatment marketed as Rejuran, PDRN, polynucleotides, or “salmon DNA,” ask your provider about the exact product being used, its manufacturer, source, intended method of administration, and current U.S. regulatory status.
Transparency should always be part of the consultation.
So, Does Rejuran Healer Work? #
Research suggests injectable polynucleotides can improve certain aspects of skin quality, including fine lines, hydration, elasticity, and texture.
But Rejuran isn’t a miracle treatment.
The best results are likely to come from using it for the right patient and the right skin concern, with realistic expectations about the degree and timeline of improvement.
If your goal is to dramatically change your face, Rejuran probably isn’t the treatment you’re looking for.
If your goal is to help your skin look healthier, smoother, more hydrated, and more resilient while still looking like yourself, it may be worth discussing.
A Skin-Forward Approach at AIVI Aesthetics #
At AIVI Aesthetics, we believe healthy aging doesn’t mean chasing every wrinkle or automatically adding more filler.
We look at what’s actually changing.
Is it your skin quality?
Collagen?
Texture?
Sun damage?
Muscle movement?
Volume?
Once we understand the cause, we can determine whether a regenerative treatment, microneedling, RF microneedling, CO2 laser resurfacing, biostimulation, or another approach makes sense.
The goal is healthy skin and natural-looking rejuvenation without making you look overdone.
